The bishopric and wives decided to do a session last night at the Idaho Falls Temple. After running out of the house, leaving a poor 12-year old with 2 crying kids and one hyped up on sugar, we made it to the temple. I love going to the temple, it's so peaceful there.....no crying kids or kids running around screaming! But, it's so nice to be able to go back to the temple where I used to do baptisms for the dead, where I originally took out my own endowments, and where I eventually was sealed to my eternal companion. It feels like home AND I tend to see someone I know every time.
Last time we went, I saw a couple from my parents' ward, the Stones. Last night as we were rushing through the parking lot, I saw my cousin, Tracy and her hubby rushing in also. They were with another couple and I recognized her from the Education Program at ISU so many years ago.
The biggest surprise was that I ran into a student that I taught when she was a 6th grader. CRAZY......all I could think was "How old am I?" She was as cute as I remember her and she introduced me to her husband as "her favorite teacher." That did make me feel better since I was feeling a bit ancient. Anyway, it was so good to see her...she filled me in on some of the boys in the class returning home from missions, etc. Wow...how time flies. They were a great bunch of kids and I'm glad I had the opportunity to get to know them.
I don't think there's a better place to run into someone you know than at the temple.
