Weekends always go too fast around here.  Friday night Layne and I went to see "I Am Number Four" (it was pretty good....Layne really liked it) and left the kids home with the babysitter.  On Saturday morning, we got up and headed straight to WalMart (I know what a thrill, huh?) to buy more supplies for our 72 hour kits.  We got them out on Monday night for FHE and found them seriously lacking.  I think the last time we went through them, Hyrum was 18 months old and there were still diapers in his backpack.  He was not happy.  Afterwards, we had the kids do some work around the house and had lunch.
Around 3:30 I decided we needed out of the house so we went on a bike ride.  I swear when we left the sun was shining and it felt sort of nice.  We rode to the school and let the kids play on the playground.  I cut our trip short because the wind started blowing and it started getting REALLY cold.  However, Hyrum was taking his own sweet time and kept stopping and getting off of his bike.  Matthew was complaining that his hands were freezing and honestly I can't remember the last time my hands felt so cold.  Eventually Hyrum just wouldn't get on his bike at all, so Layne put Hyrum on his shoulders and rode him home (yes, this made me very nervous).  I grabbed Hyrum's bike and rode mine while holding the bike with one hand....sort of heavy for a wimp like myself.  By the time we got home, we were all frozen and worn out.  That's why we took the kids to McDonald's (or Hot Donald's as Hyrum calls it).  Afterwards Hyrum was sticking his happy meal box on his head and kept running into things, so Layne cut out a place for him to see....then Matt joined in the fun.

I want spring to  come so badly....I made this dress for Kennedy and really wanted some outside pictures of her in it....but it might be June before that happens, so I snapped a few right before church this morning.

Notice Hyrum's backpack...it's filled with fruit snacks and hot wheels....what every 3-year-old boy needs to make it through sacrament meeting.

Isn't she a doll?  I found a tutorial on how to make a little girl's dress from a men's shirt.  It was pretty simple....except making your own pattern for it.  It was way too tight so I added the fabric down the sides.  It was fun to make her headband and flower too.  I LOVE the ruffly, flowery girly girly styles right now.  I'm hoping to make her another one and it will be a bit bigger...this one still seemed a bit snug.
Matt insisted that I get a picture of him being silly.
