Family Fun

I was at Girl's Camp last Tuesday morning through Thursday night.  It was a blast!  I think the leaders may have had more fun than the girls.  What a great group of women and girls.  I seriously hope I stay in Young Women's for awhile so I can go again next year.  AND hopefully my kids didn't wear out their welcome at their grandma's house so they will have somewhere to go again.  They also had a blast as their 4 cousins were there too....yes, my mother is a saint.

Anyway, Layne and I were both really missing our kiddos....so we took them to see Kung Fu Panda 2 on Friday night.  Then Saturday, we headed up to the mountains.  Layne gave the kids rides on his motorcycle and I hung out with the flies.  I'm reconsidering getting my own bike.....it would be much more fun than sitting in a camp chair.

When we got home Saturday evening, Layne decided to take Hyrum's training wheels off of his bicycle.  Within 2 minutes, Matthew ran into the house screaming, "He's doing it! He's doing it!"  I ran out to see and sure enough, my baby was riding a two wheeler.  I'm trying to download a video, it's rather amazing.  Matthew learned to ride right before he turned four, but Hyrum is 4 1/2 months away from being four.  Hyrum did want his training wheels back on today, but I think he was just tired.    I had to mute the video as in EVERY one, I'm the nervous mom yelling things like, "Layne, stay by him.........slow down, Hyrum.........are you sure he's okay?"

Layne with the boys.

Layne with Kennedy.  She was yelling for Layne to slow down the entire time.  If he's anything like my dad was, he just laughs and goes faster.

I have been catching up on your blog and I love it, you make me smile and laugh out loud (literally) with your stories and whatnot. Garsh I wish we were neighbors again!
I love the sidebar phrases from your kids, seriously priceless :)

At first I thought you were talking about a mountain bike, until I saw the picture :) you Maxfields never have a dull moment do ya!?
