The other day, Matthew went up to get Hyrum for breakfast. Hyrum still can't open doors by himself. I think he could if he tried, but he spent so much time trying when he was younger that he has just accepted the fact that he can't open them. (I'm okay with that.) Anyway, I could hear Matthew telling him, "Come on, let's go give your mommy a hug." In my mind I was envisioning my little toddler next to his big brother as I was going up the stairs to meet them. They came around the corner and it literally stunned me for a second......Hyrum is almost as big as Matthew!! People have been telling me that they look a lot alike (I even had an old man ask if they were twins at the grocery store) and I really don't think they look that much alike but I have also looked twice to see which kid I'm really looking at. Hyrum is already wearing Matt's summer clothes from last year!
Hyrum is at a really fun age. He is talking up a storm and Kennedy and Matt love to hear the things he says. He is very good good at saying "thank you" and then I say "you're welcome" so he says, "you're welcome". The other day he came into my bathroom while I was fixing my hair and the sun was shining right in his eyes. After a minute I noticed he was rubbing his eyes and I asked if he was okay. He said, "My eyeball broken."
He is very proud of the fact that he is not a baby anymore. He will say, "I not a baby, mom." So I asked him if he was a big kid and he said, "No, I Hyrum." Too cute. He randomly said the other day, "I not crying like a baby." He is quick to point out if Matt gets in trouble....."He in trouble, mom?" He cracks me up. Tonight when I was picking him to put him in bed, he started stroking my hair and saying, "I like your hair." He also likes to disagree with me. Whenever I tell him he's cute, he says, "I not cute!"
The most surprising thing to me right now is that he has learned to ride Matthew's old bike (with training wheels of course). I don't think my other kids were tall enough to reach the pedals at that age, but he can and he has figured out how they work and everything. He is even getting the steering down. He does turn a bit sharp sometimes and has wiped out a few times.....I have got to get him a bike helmet. All-in-all, Hyrum is a treat and I just can't get over how fast he's growing up!!

This is so sweet! I know what you mean about not being sure at first which boy is which. It's just beginning for you. And I'm still dealing with it:-)
