Celebrating Hyrum

Where in the world does the time go?  My little Hyrum turned 3 on Monday.  It just doesn't seem like that long ago I was holding him in the hospital as a newborn.  My mom brought Kennedy and Matthew up to the hospital to meet him.  I thought it was so cute because Kennedy insisted on wearing her black velvet dress, black tights and church shoes to meet her new baby brother.  I thought Matthew was so grown-up (he was 2 1/2) because he held Hyrum and said, "he's adoable".
My mom took Kennedy and Mattie to Pocatello and Layne and I had Hyrum all to ourselves for 5 days.  That was some seriously good resting/recovery time.  I had forgotten what it was like to have only one baby.   I loved it, but after day 5 I basically begged my mom to bring my other kids home.
Hyrum was the perfect 3rd child (as all third children are- myself inclueded) and up until he was 2 1/2, he was very mellow and quiet...enough that sometimes I wondered if he'd ever talk...let's say he has taken after Matthew and will talk your ear off if you let him.  I LOVE it.
Hyrum has now turned into a delightful, fun, silly three-year-old.  When he gets excited, he says "Yippee" or "HOORAY".  We are in the midst of potty training and everytime he actually uses the potty he is so happy.  When I gave him his big boy underwear, he ran around giggling and showing everyone.
Hyrum is all boy.  He thoroughly enjoys a good "poop" joke or just likes to call everyone and everything "poopy pants".  He LOVES trucks, cars and motorcycles.  He told me this morning that when he grows up he is going to ride a motorcycle.
Hyrum loves his siblings. When Matthew got in trouble last week, Hyrum said, "Be nice to my boy.  He's my friend."  He sticks up for Kennedy too.  We are so lucky to have him in our home.

Hyrum, talking about what might be in his present.

Blowing out the candles!
The MONKEY CAKE.....this was even easier than Kennedy's cake if that's possible.
