Barbies, Babies and Bread

The other night I was reading Kennedy her new Barbie coloring book.....it's pretty shallow, but she HAD to have it so I let her get it. Anyway, while we were reading, I told her that I didn't really like one of Barbie's outfits. "Ya, it's not modest, is it, mom?" Kennedy said. I agreed. Then a few minutes later Kennedy says, "I don't think Barbie knows about God." I thought that was pretty insightful for a 5 year-old. I have to agree, I don't think Barbie is very religious!

The past few weeks Matthew has been OBSESSED with babies!! He told me a few weeks ago that he wanted twin brothers. Last week while at a restaurant we saw a couple with very new, cute baby girl with a big red bow in her hair. Matthew was the one to point how how "cute" and "yittle" she was. Then he started in on how much he wants a little baby sister. Two days ago he told me that he wanted a little baby Kenneders (Kennedy's nickname coined by her Uncle Troy). I told Matt we would have to wait and see (by the way, no babies in the plans yet). So, last night he was helping me set the table and he says, "Mom, when is my Kenneders going to get here?" I thought he was asking when Kennedy would be coming up for dinner so I told him she'd be up in a minute. "No, not Kennedy, my yittle baby Kenneders! When will I get her?" I think it's too funny that he suddenly wants a baby sister especially considering that he and Kennedy fight like cats and dogs.

My bread making..............I have now made my home made whole wheat bread............it must have turned out okay because I made it late Saturday night and as of Monday morning we've eaten two loaves. The kids love it! Hooray. The only down side was that my little hand mixer was about to kick the bucket so I had to mix/knead it by hand. Layne took pity on me and turned into my "kitchen aid". Seriously I think I need to buy a Kitchen Aid or a Bosh...I'll take either one, although the Kitchen Aid is soooo much cuter! So, my husband says that he doesn't think I'd really use a Kitchen Aid that much if I bought one. I said, "Oh yes I would, I'd use it for chocolate chip cookies, bread, chocolate chip cookies, pizza dough, chocolate chip cookies and did I mention chocolate chip cookies?"
