My Cup is Half Full, My Cup is Half Full.....

My cup is half full....that's what I keep telling myself over and over and over the past few weeks. I have a great life and wonderful kids. However, we all struggle at times and lately I have felt more struggles than not. I'd rather not dwell on the things troubling me, rather the things that I cherish. So, here goes....
Last night I had a fabulous date with Matthew! He needs some extra love and attention right now, so we are putting out a real effort to give him what he needs. I took the date idea from my sister-in-law and we went to the mall to ride the escalators and ride the quarter rides. He also got a HUGE piece of bubble gum from the gumball machine. Afterwards we got pie at Perkins. My favorite part was listening to him tell anyone who would listen, "we're on a date" and then grin that contagious little grin! It was a good date and good for me to spend time with only him.

Hyrum has been feeling under the weather this week, but even so, he is so sweet and cute! He is really starting to talk and I LOVE hearing him say, "ready, go" and then he takes off running. I hope he gets feeling all the way well.

Kennedy cracks me up! My brother, Ben came to stay for a few nights as he was working at a booth at the fair. He told numerous stories and all the while Kennedy listened intently. On the second day, Kennedy looked at me and said, "Uncle Ben only talks about fun or gross things." I thought that was pretty observant for a five-year-old who just heard a bunch of stories about what they do with dead cows and fun motorcycling trips! We love you Uncle Ben......my kids adore you because of your "stories".

What a great idea for you & Matthew. I'm glad he had such a great night-I'm definitely taking some parenting notes. I hope things are up and up -that is a cheesy saying :)
Take care

Good for you to focus on the good. I know what you mean by when something bad happens it seems to all happen at once and you feel like you are never going to get out from under it all. Love the date idea I will have to use that sometime. Take care, we really need to get together.

I still can't believe how big Hyrum is getting! When I saw his picture, I thought it was another picture of Matthew at first. You have the sweetest kids and you are a fabulous mom! Hang in there!
