Hyrum is such a joy to have in our house. He turned two on the 29th of November and his little personality is really coming out!! My friend and I were talking today about what a fun, yet hard age this is. He is starting to talk like crazy which is so fun to hear. My favorite thing he says is "Otay, mom". That is his way of saying "Okay, mom." I just love how he can understand things and depending on what I say, will depend on whether he says "Otay" excitedly or sadly. The other day I told him we were having stories and then naps and he solemnly said, "Otay, mom". I love it!!

On the flip side of that, he has been telling me, "no, mom, stop." and "mo choclick mik." That translates into, "more chocolate milk". Now how can you say no to that cute chubby face and that adorable little sound coming out of his mouth. Well, I can't, and Layne is sure he's going to be a fat kid if things keep going like they are. I LOVE his chubbiness and am sad that my other two are losing their baby fat if not already lost it completely.
Since Matthew is his older brother, Hyrum has learned all of the crazy ways he can contort his face. He LOVES to wrinkle up his little nose, especially when he gets mad. I think it's so funny, but would of course prefer his contagious smile.

You don't get to see the entire "train" cake that I threw together the day before his birthday. It was pretty hideous, but Hyrum loved it. (Yes, Layne gave him a whole car to eat himself. I think he was tired of having sweets around and just wanted to be done with it).

I can't believe he is already 2!! Time goes too fast. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with family and made me reflect on all the blessings we have. This scripture came to mind:
Alma 26:37
"Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my god forever. Amen."
I think that pretty much sums it up.

Happy Birthday Hyrum!!! What an adorable little boy (all of your kids are). It's so crazy how fast they grow. It bums me out when the baby is no longer a baby.
