Adventures in Sewing: Part 1

I just finished sewing this purse yesterday.  Two problems.  #1 It is microscopic.  I knew that the pattern looked ridiculously small, but I decided that I could at least use it to tote my sciptures to church on Sunday.  Wrong, my quad does not fit!

#2  I realized that although I LOVE pink, it has too much pink.  It looks like a little girl.  So, Kennedy is now thrilled to be the proud owner of this little purse.  Luckily it was a very fast, easy project and I did learn a few things.  I never knew that installing a magnetic snap was such a cinch.  I do adore the blue inside with dots.  Oh well, one of my New Year's Resolutions is to use my sewing machine more.  So, I have already purchased a LARGE bag pattern for all of my crap stuff.

P.S.  My sister-in-law won this e-pattern from http://www.youcanmakethis.com/.  If anyone is interested in this particular pattern, I can email it to you.  Their website also has free patterns you can download.

Wow, Mel! You must never waste a minute! I really admire how much you get accomplished! I love the bag. It does look like something Kennedy will love. Sorry it did not work for you. I've never installed a magnetic snap closure. I'll have to investigate. I could use something similar for Sunday, too. Congrats on your accomplishments! Judy

Kennedy said you were making her a purse, but I didn't realize there was a story behind it. Just a little F.Y.I., my favorite color is purple :) (that means you're suppose to smile)
Nice work!
