On Easter we headed to Pocatello for dinner with my parents. When we got home, there were two grocery sacks on our front porch. They contained 3 chocolate bunnies and 3 containers of cotton candy. I assumed that they were from our neighbor, Charlie. Charlie is a widower that lives next door. He has two large dogs ( I think they are Huskies) and my kids adore the dogs and Charlie. Anytime we make cookies, the kids want to take some to Charlie. Kennedy is forever drawing him pictures and delivering them to him.
Last Easter, we were outside when Charlie came over with two LARGE Easter baskets and said the Easter Bunny had left them at his house, but surely they were for the kids. He handed one to Kennedy and one to Matthew. While the kids were admiring their gifts, Hyrum came toddling out of the garage. Charlie looked concerned, "Is that one yours too?" I guess I usually took Kennedy and Matthew out front while Hyrum napped so Charlie didn't realize that we had 3 children. I thought it was very sweet of him to remember Hyrum this year.....well, even that he got anything for my kids at all was very thoughtful.
The kids saw him outside yesterday and ran over to thank him for the treats. Again he said that the Easter Bunny must have left them at the wrong house and so he's brought them over to ours. It is nice to have good neighbors that like my kids.
