Last year Layne bought the kids fishing poles and said that he was taking the kids fishing. I was surprised because I know that Layne hates fishing. So I asked him why he was motivated to take them fishing. He said that he really wanted to do something with the kids that was calm and peaceful, that required him to spend time with them, but gave plenty of opportunity to talk with them. Wow! I was impressed. So, Saturday morning when I got home from running at the wee hours in the morning, he was already loading the kids in the truck with their poles and worms. When Hyrum woke up later, we were able to join them at the lake and I found Kennedy and Matt having the time of their lives and they even caught some fish!! Kennedy caught 2 and Matt caught 1. Oh yes, they were mighty proud! And me, I'm mighty proud of my husband for finding a hobby that will hopefully be a bonding experience for him and the kids. I'm not so thrilled about a container of worms in my fridge, but I'm going to suck it up.

How fun! Fish kind of gross me out a bit, but I'm sure the kids don't care about anything like that! What a great Dad.
What an awesome guy! And then did you have fish for dinner? mmmmmm nothing better than fresh fish on the grill.
Great post! This stuff is paydirt for a mom and grandma. I'm moving these photos over to "my pictures".
I'm with ya, worms in the fridge, no thanks but how great for some daddy kiddo time!
