A Very Fun-Filled Week

Last week my family got together for our annual camping trip.  It actually started with a reunion with my Grandma Hayes and her kids (my aunts and uncles) and their kids (my cousins).  I hadn't seen some of my cousins for over 15 years so it was fun to see them.
Then we headed to Downey to go camping at Downata Hot Springs.  Layne couldn't go, but I really wanted to spend some time with my siblings and their families, so I loaded up the kids with all of the camping equipment and headed out.  We only camped two nights and it wasn't too bad.  The night a mouse got trapped between the tarp under my tent and the bottom of tent, I was really wishing Layne were there.  I could hear the stupid thing scurrying around underneath me ALL night long.
We ended up with the pool all to ourselves as there was some confusion as to when the pool opened for the season.  The lady was nice enough to open it for 2 hours just for our family.  The water was tub temperature and the kids had a blast!
The rest of the week was spent on various activities including the zoo, blowing extremely large bubbles (some up to 7 feet long!), painting picture frames and a movie in my parents backyard complete with movie tickets, popcorn, drinks and candybars.  All in all we had a great time and we were completely exhausted by the time we got home!

Sounds like lots of fun! I would have hated having that mouse there too!

Glad that you could go with your children, and that the weather was good. The photos are wonderful. Your family is so creative as far as activities.
