Back in the Saddle Again (I hope)

Well, I ran 10 miles yesterday.  My running partner was nice enough to go the first few miles with me since she had already done her 10 mile run.  Around mile 6 my leg started bugging me a little, but I had bought myself a camelbak and had it full of water, my ipod was charged, and I had Goo to give me some energy.  I really wanted to run the entire 10 miles so I'd feel prepared for the 1/2 marathon next Saturday.  I probably shouldn't have pushed it since my leg really bothered me all day after that, but around mile 8 it started raining.  I LOVE to run in the rain so I kept on going and probably even started running a little faster.   Honestly, it felt good.  The last 1/2 mile my sweet running partner drove out to check on me.  I think she was afraid that my leg was bugging me and I was walking in the, by then, pouring rain.     I'm really hoping if I'm diligent with all of my stretching and strengthening exercises, I'll be there for the race next Saturday and it will go well.   My physical therapist seems to think if everything stays in place, I should be good to go.  Layne doesn't know I ran 10 miles on Saturday.....he is VERY worried that I'm going to do some damage to my body.  A year ago, I would have NEVER believed that I could run that far.   The body is an amazing thing.
