Summer Days

I think the kids have had a fun-filled summer.  I know I'm exhausted.  Little Hyrum is getting so big.  He LOVES to ride his bike and is a pretty good rider.  Everytime we go near the garage he says, "I ride my bike?"  He gets very upset when we have to eat lunch or head to the store instead of riding his bike.   Hyrum is a gem, but he has had some 2-year-old outbursts in the past few months.  After he yells something at me, he'll stop, and try his hardest to say the same thing without yelling.  I think it's so cute.

Sunday morning, Hyrum saw his church clothes sitting out and he grabbed them and started throwing them and yelling, "I not going to nursery!"  Well, at least he recognizes that those clothes mean church.  I don't know why he was saying he didn't want to go, his dad and my friend's husband are the nursery leaders and there are no rules and unlimited snacks!!!  He should be in heaven.
I took the kids shopping for school clothes last week.  When we got to the mall, Matt said, "Now why are we here again?" and I told him that we were buying school clothes.  "Uggh" he sighed.  Then Kennedy piped up, "This is exciting for me, Matt!"   Kennedy did enjoy shopping and so did I, we just have completely different taste in clothes.  The good news is that she's a doll and she's six so she can get away wither her sparkly gold shoes she picked out.

The kids started swimming lesson yesterday.  I have to say taking a 6-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a 2-year-old is much easier than taking a 5-year-old, a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old (which is what I did last year).  I still have to do the mommy and me class with Hyrum as he's not 3 yet, but he is loving it!  There is no way he would have been okay watching his brother and sister from the bleachers for two weeks.   The only thing that would make that experience better for me is if I were naturally tan from head to toe.  DREAM ON!

Here's a picture of the kids in their pool out back.  If you're wondering what Matt is holding, It's a rock in the perfect shape of a pickle...well, Matt said it looked like something else, but that's because he's Matt and he's a boy and he LOVES to be silly and get a rise out of me!!
