Later, they used this as their ambulance and rescued each other from tragedy.
Then they rode their bikes through the kitchen while I cleaned some more.....and did a little sewing. The best part was that after lunch, they put out their "nap cots" and I read to them for an hour. Then Hyrum and I headed upstairs for a much needed nap (when we would usually be leaving to pick up Kennedy) and the others played quietly downstairs. When I woke up, Kennedy was reading a book to Matt. I recognize that this was a rare occasion that all would go smoothly and they would play so well, but it was nice.
I finished the scripture bags for the boys that I started a month ago before I got sick. I got the idea for them here, but pretty much had to make my own pattern because I wanted them just big enough to fit a small notebook and a Book of Mormon.
Matthew really wanted a magnetic snap like Kennedy's purse, so it is complete, snap and all. This was a really easy way to make a bag with a lining. I wanted their names on them (because I know they will leave them in Primary or something) so I used my iron on tranfer from my printer. I had to learn the hard way and spent too much time on this step. I kept accidentally ironing over the words (which melted them) when I was ironing other parts of the bag..DUH..so I had to start over. I like the end result better than what I started with, so I guess that is good.
I hope Hyrum's doesn't look too girly, but I was trying to only use material I already had on hand....thus the red stripey fabric.....he's 3 so anything goes, right?
AND....the most exciting thing came in the mail today.........MY PHOTOBOOKS!!!
They turned out sooo nice. These are little 6x6 books I made for each kid. It has a letter for every 2 months telling what things have happened to them, what they like, etc. and photos to go with it. They were actually pretty fast to throw together. Kennedy's starts from when she was 3 up to the present.
I also turned another year of my blog into a book. It feels good to have a record WITH photos of our family AND I messed up last time and directly copied photos off my blog and pasted them into my digital scrapbook....those pictures were blurry (live and learn) so this time, all my photos are crisp and clear.

I am sorry to hear that you are still not up to par:( But I love that the kids got to stay home when it was -22. That would be crazy to take kids out in that. I love to see them use their imaginations. Great book bags, and photo albums! You are so crafty!
