I found this adorable site awhile back:
http://littlepageturners.blogspot.com/ This lady has a bazillion activities that go along with different children's books. It's a very cute blog. So, I found this book that she recommended,"Sun Bread" by Elisa Kleven. It's a book about a village of animals that are sooo tired of the wind, snow and winter in general......sound familiar? A baker decides to bake a giant sun from bread. Then she shares it with everyone....."And filled them up from toe to head with puffy hot, delicious bread. Bread so brilliant, bright, and sunny, summer seemed to fill their tummies. Bread so fluffy and so fine, they felt themselves begin to shine..." Last night we decided to make our own sun bread....there is even a recipe on the back of the book.
Here's Kennedy's Sun Bread.
Hyrum's Sun Bread
Matthew's Sun Bread
It was rather tasty.....the kids were dancing around saying they could feel the sun shining through them......whatever it takes to not HATE winter so much, right?

What a cute idea! I need to check out that blog.
How fun is that?! Love it. Those suns are pretty darn cute as well :)
I need to be more crafty with my kids in this horrid LONG winter!
Thanks for the inspiration.
