The rest of the morning went downhill from there....the kids, mostly the boys, have NOT been going to bed good so they have been overly tired and GRUMPY. They were both whining about getting ready for church, Hyrum was pulling his tie off and every time I combed his hair, he would purposely try to mess it up again. By the time we made it to church, none of us wanted to speak to each other, look at each other or sit next to each other. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
During Sacrament Meeting, they had the Primary children go up to sing to the mothers. Our ward hasn't always done this so I was happily surprised to see Hyrum's face light up when I told him that he could go up and sing. Matthew refused to go up with all of the other kids, so Kennedy took Hyrum up to the front of the chapel. Hyrum looked out at me (he could barely see over the railing) and he was waving at me. Then they started singing "I often go walking..." Mid song, I see Hyrum's litle head bobbing up and down as he is RUNNING back down the stairs and down the aisle. (We were sitting in the overflow as we were late, of course). About 8 feet away from me, Hyrum stops, throw his hands up and loudly YELLS, "I DON'T KNOW THE SONG!" He was very upset that he didn't know the words to the song. I just held him laughing and then shed a few tears....being a mom is hard, there aren't any perfect days, but there are perfect moments. I love being a mom.
