Halloween Costumes

I feel like I've been sitting at my sewing machine all week...oh wait, I have.  Every year I think that costume making will be no big deal....and every year I barely get my costumes made by the time we need them.  The past two years we have had a school carnival two weeks before Halloween.  Obviously I'd like a little more time, but now, my costumes are done for Halloween and I can enjoy pumpkin carving and other Halloween festivities and MY BIRTHDAY and Layne's birthday without being stressed about costumes.  Here are a few photos...I have a bunch more to post later.  I always learn a lot when making costumes; it's good practice sewing and I don't mind if it isn't absolutely perfect, because afterall, it's just a costume.  This year I learned how to make my own pattern for a jacket and chaps.  I also learned that Hyrum and Kennedy have the same size of waist.  I sort of enjoyed having to use some creativity and whatever I had on hand this morning to make a Frankenstein neckband and a Razzle Dazzle headband.  AND I dyed a shirt for the first time....it was REALLY easy, I sort of want to dye something else.

Now I've got to figure out a costume for myself for next weekend as Layne and I are headed to a costume party.  Any suggestions?
