Poor little Hyrum has been trying to cut teeth for the past 2 weeks. Two of them have successfully popped through, but now he has at least 3 more trying to come in......and some of them are molars!! He has been so miserable. The only thing that comforts him his a nice bowl of frozen blueberries. I'm afraid he's going to turn into a giant blueberry like in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.
I haven't gotten much done lately as little Hyrum wants to be held these days (or fed continually). So, last night Layne and I decided we needed a break and I had some errands to run. We got a babysitter last minute and we were only gone for 2 hours. When we got home, my poor little babysitter was sitting on a chair near our Christmas tree, holding the tree up and trying to read stories to my kids who wouldn't stay in their beds. Apparently, while the kids were playing in the other room, they heard a loud crash and came up to find the entire 6 1/2 foot tree had crashed down. Luckily I only had a few ornaments that were breakable.....and yes, they broke. The babysitter had her mom come and they cleaned it up and got the tree standing, but she had to hold it up until we got home. I think I would have left it on the floor! So now I'm super leery of Hyrum being anywhere near the tree. I think our stand must be too small for this tall of a tree or something. It probably didn't help that I had let the kids do most of the decorating and 80% of the ornaments were on the front towards the bottom. It is kind of funny though! I'm just glad no one was hurt.
P.S. Doesn't Hyrum look sweet in this photo? I should have gotten one of him screaming in pain....that's really more of how it's been lately.

Mel, That's a very big tree! I agree. It probably needs a larger stand. Hey, I never thought of frozen blueberries for teething, but that's a good Idea. The photos of the kids are great. Gotta love Christmas!!! Judy
What a sad story about your tree, but what an awesome babysitter to have stood there and held it up....who does that??? :)
Good luck with the teething, its just as hard on the parents as it is the child when they go through that......:)
So, we often had that problem with our trees when I was a kid...plus there was always a baby who tried to pull it over. So we tied a string to the top of the tree and attached it to the ceiling or nearby wall. It held the tree up. We always joke about it every year since.
