Nursery/Sunbeams

(Good thing he's so dang cute!)

I am in the nursery now. This is my first time ever serving in the nursery and I actually really like it. Our nursery is split because it's so big, so after the kids play together in the large nursery room, myself and another lady take the older kids (who will be Sunbeams in January) to the Primary room for singing time and then into our own room for snacks, a lesson and a craft.

My real challenge has been my own son. Apparently he's an angel when I'm not around, but now that I am around, he's a bit crazy and defiant. He's getting better, I think. A month ago when this calling was still pretty new to me, he was totally acting up in Sacrament and I thought, "Oh good, it's almost time to go to nursery." Then it donned on me that I am the nursery teacher!!

In January, I will be the Sunbeam teacher. However, since there are 13 of them (and ALL of them were here today) the Primary President has decided to split the class so I'll only have 6 or 7. I am crazy enough to ask to keep Matthew with me. I feel like I really want to make it work and they are only 3-years-old once. Plus I really think he's getting better and it could be a good experience for both of us. He is soooo sweet when he wants to be. I'm really excited to start the new year.

I am looking for a cute craft to go along with our lesson of Christ's birth. I've done the baby Jesus with play dough before, but I'm not sure that's what I want to do. Any suggestions would be welcome!
