Miracle of miracles...I finished K's Easter dress. I think it's kind of funny that I finally sewed her a dress and there is no church this Easter Sunday. So, she wore it to church yesterday. During the sewing process, I had her try the dress on so I could get a feel for the size, etc. It had no zipper or ribbon yet. She did NOT like it. Luckily once I put the zipper in and got the ribbon and flowers on, she loved it. She was skipping into church looking down at her dress. Success!!
Worst part of making the dress: definitely the black tule around the bottom (that you probably didn't even notice.) What a mess!! .....the installation of the zipper was right up there too....I have yet to install a zipper that ends up looking nice.
Best part of making the dress: making the matching bow with the leftover ribbon and flower.....it literally took me five minutes to make....AND of course the look on Kennedy's face when she saw the finished product.

Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so proud of you! It's no easy feat to sew anything with 3 little ones to care for. The bow is a wonderful topper. I love the long ties hanging down the back. I'm so glad that Kennedy loves it.
Good Job!
That's awesome! I want to learn to sew that good one day. I'm sure Kennedy loved it!
Her dress turned out so cute, good job! It's a great color on her, and she looks like a little princess in it.
Thanks for checking on me. I was in bed most of the day yesterday, which gave me a chance to finish the book. I don't think I've ever devoured a book like that before. I bawled like a baby when a read the last page. It was fantastic (maybe my hormones played a part in that). Now I can return it to Burley's library, 4 days after it was checked out.
I hope you're feeling okay, and that your sore throat didn't turn into anything.
Enjoy all the chocolate that bunny will bring you guys :)
You did a great job - the dress is beautiful!
Mel, that dress rocks. I don't think I would ever adventrue into sewing clothes that would be worn in public. GREAT JOB!!
I am so proud! Holy moly, what a project and so adorable at the same time! Very impressive my dear!
She does look like she is quite proud indeed. :)
