Kennedy's Love Language - Gift Giving

I just had to share this story....it really reflects a lot about Kennedy's personality. The other day the kids were outside riding their bikes. They are usually really good about staying on the driveway, so I ran inside to put Hyrum down for a nap. When I came back, I saw Kennedy running across the lawn from the neighbor's house. When she got to our house I asked her why she wasn't on the driveway. She said that she wanted to put a rock on Charlies doorstep for a present. I told her that I didn't think that would be a good idea because Charlie might not know it was a gift. Then Kennedy got this really uncomfortable look on her face and I asked her what was the matter. She sat there for a minute, then she said, "I don't want to tell." So, I dropped it and just asked her not to put any more rocks on peoples porches.

The next day we were getting dressed for the day and Kennedy comes over with this very worried look on her face. I asked her what was wrong and she started bawling!! I was taken back and held her and kept inquiring what was wrong. So, she through her tears says, "I put rocks on all of the porches!" I asked her what she meant and she said, "I put rocks on all the porches on our side of the street." I asked her how she put rocks on all of the porches so fast and she explained that she just ran really fast. I then had to explain that it was okay that she had put rocks on their porches. I was just concerned that our neighbors wouldn't understand it was a gift. She is so darn sensitive and thoughtful too! I swear ever since I can remember she's been wrapping little toys in her blankies and giving them to us as gifts.
