Family Night: Applesauce Making

The apples we picked at my grandma's house a few weeks ago were starting to go bad...so for family night we made applesauce (chunky style).

What a bunch of beautiful apples!

What I love about enlisting Layne in a project is that he basically takes over!! I really did help, but it was minimal.

Hyrum thought he was helping, but really he was just playing in the water getting soaking wet!

The kids had fun helping peel the apples...I am loving my new apple/peeler/slicer and I bet my mom will be glad that I won't be borrowing hers every fall.

The kids were just the right height to get squirted in the face while peeling.

Kennedy is quite the machine when it comes to helping with apples.

All in all it was a fun family night...we only had one bag of apples which turned into 3 jars of applesauce, but I think it was plenty for our first try.

Fun fun! Yay for fall. I miss getting buckets of apples from my Grandpa. I went to the grocery store to buy some because I REALLY wanted to make an apple pie. I still have the desire, now I just have to find the energy. We LOVE AND MISS you guys!!!!!

Mel, Love the photos and the activity! The kids are looking more and more like eachother. Hyrum looks like Matt and Matt looks like Kennedy. Great photos of the FHE. and beautiful product! Ward and I just picked 3 boxes at a friend's last night. Come on down and you can teach me how to make chunky applesauce. Never done that before. I think the kids would love it! Proud of You!!! Mom
