Sick Days

Well, Hyrum started throwing up on my birthday (Wednesday). He didn't seem too sick, just irritable and randomly throwing up. I still went to my book club that night and stayed out til midnight (pretty smart, huh?). Thursday was Layne's birthday and since Hyrum was worse on Thursday, his birthday was lacking significantly. I did make him fudge which is what he wanted instead of a cake (and he and the kids made me cupcakes which I thought was very sweet) but other than that, I had not cooked the fabulous dinner that I hoped to have ready for him, I did not make him a nice card, I did not have the kids make him cute cards......... sorry honey, you'll have to take a rain check on all of that. (However, with our birthdays back-to-back, Hyrum learned to say Happy Birthday - "happy dirday!" Sooo cute.)

Sick days around here consist of a lot of movie watching, sleepless nights, laundry piling up, bedding ripped from the beds, "throw-up bowls" laying around, popsicle and ice chip eating; you get the picture. NOT FUN!! Well, Hyrum is finally feeling a bit better today.......he hadn't eaten all day yesterday and seemed fine at lunch so I let him have some noodles. Let's just say he GORGED himself and then lost it all!! The good/weird part is that he hasn't had a fever at all. Fevers scare me so I'm glad he never got one.

Tonight, Layne took Kennedy and Matthew trunk-or-treating and I suddenly had a burst of energy to remove EVERYTHING from the family room and vacuum and steam clean it. Now I'm exhausted and sitting here eating Layne's birthday fudge while wasting time on the computer. I'm ready for life to get back to normal.....or even semi-normal.
