The Wedding is Off

About a month ago, Matthew was talking about marrying Kennedy when he grows up (again!). I explained to him that someday he would marry a girl just as cute, sweet and smart as Kennedy, but that we don't marry our sisters. I told him there were lots of nice girls out there and gave him a few examples of girls that go to preschool with him. His eyes lit up and he said, "I'm going to marry Macey!" She is one of the Sunbeams in our ward....a very sweet girl. So, I said, "Okay, you can marry Macey."

A few weeks ago, Macey's mom came up to me at church and said, "I hear we have a wedding to plan. Matthew just came and informed Macey that he's marrying her when he grows up." I just laughed. Well, yesterday, Matthew sadly said, "Mom, I don't think Macey wants to marry me." I asked why he thought that and he explained that when he had told her that he was going to marry her, she shook her head 'no'. I told him that maybe she'll change her mind when she gets older. Matt said, "Ya, maybe she just doesn't know what 'marrying' means.....she's just a kid." :)

Too cute. I love the crazy things kids say. When Austin was 5 he decided he was going to marry a girl in our ward who was 19 and they were going to live in a tree house and have 20 kids. Good luck with that.

Lol. That's so funny! I'm glad you don't have to deal with incest now. Matthew is so cute, I don't think he'll have a problem with girls.
